Through prayer and seeking direction, God has been faithful to show us exactly where he wants us. We explored a couple of other options (Haiti and South Africa), but we still feel very drawn to the latin american culture and we believe that this is the area that we will focus not only this effort, but also efforts in the upcoming years.

The tenative travel dates are November 14 - 21, 2008. We will be working alongside a family of missionaries that have recently planted a mission base in Granada, Nicaragua. The purpose of the base is to be a multifunctional facility. A few of its purposes are:

1. The base provides opportunities to reach the local people with the gospel. This happens through a variety of channels such as - schools, adult literacy, job skills training, orphanages, etc.
   
   
2. The base will also function as a training facility for future missionaries who God is preparing to send all over the world.
   
   
3. The base will be able to host short-term mission trips that consist of people exploring God's calling in their lives and to take the gospel across the world.

They are also developing agricultural projects to help support themselves and the community by providing jobs. These are just a couple of things that God is doing through a couple of people in this one little area of the world. We are very excited to be a part of it!
